Description
The Burnside P400 series of telephones are tough, weather resistant units built to withstand abuse and environmental extremes.
These phones can be used anywhere within the worldwide GSM network coverage without the delay and expense of installation and operation of landline telephones.
The P400 Tough Phone can be wall, bulkhead, post or desk mounted and will operate from AC power, internal battery or solar panel. An AC powered telephone will run on standby for at least one week in the event of mains power failure. The battery powered version will run in standby mode for at least three months.
The telephone case is moulded in glass filled polyester to prevent rust and corrosion. It is weather proof to the IP65 standard. The case contains a standard cellular phone SIM and a multiband omni directional antenna. External antennae are available as accessories.
The Cycoloy handset is secured to the case by a high breaking strain stainless steel cord and is provided with inductive coupling for hearing aid users. When located in a moving vehicle or at sea the handset will remain on hook at angles of up to 90 degrees from the vertical. If the handset is left off hook the telephone will automatically reset itself to enable incoming calls.
Available Versions
0, 3, 6 or 15 key keyboards can be provided with programmable autodialing capability.
A GSM-R version is available as a replacement for existing incompatible in-track cable and analogue railway radio networks. Under a European directive all railway routes in Europe being built, upgraded or renewed are to specify GSM-R voice and data radio.
