What's the difference between the Burnside FCT and other makes?

Here are some of the questions you should ask before deciding which Fixed Cellular Terminal to buy.

  • Does it have an inclusive call minute timer that sends you a text message when your minutes have expired and can switch itself off?

    • Can it receive calls on its landline connection and forward the call directly to your mobile at no cost?

      • Does it have a display and mobile phone like menu that lets anyone set it up and use it without needing a manual?

      • Do you have to remember impossible to remember codes to use it?

      • Can you edit the SIM phone book?

      • Does it have voice quality as good as a landline?

      • Can you set up Multi party calling?

      • Can you compose, send and receive SMS text messages from any connected phone?

      • Can it beat a GPRS speed of 68Kpbs [in UK]?

      • Does it look as good?

      • Does it have a high sample rate signal strength meter in –dBm and 0-100% that enables location of antenna for optimum signal strength?

      • Can you update the firmware from a PC?

      • Does it have an internal uninteruptible power supply?

      • Can you diagnose problems with the FCT remotely by SMS text message?

      • Can it send Caller ID to local phone or PBX compatible with all types of caller ID including UK SIN227?

      • Can it send callers name to phone or PBX from SIM phone book?

      • Does it drop the cellular connection as soon as the call is finished. Some other FCTs are very slow to drop the connection and are therefore more expensive to use.

      • Can you remotely control and monitor equipment connected to it by SMS text?

      • Can it receive calls on a landline and forward them automatically to your mobile phone?

      • Can it receive calls on a landline and give the caller a choice of multiple remote mobile phones?
