Robson Firmware - Revision history
----------------------------------
*** Note when using firmware V1.1.14 and later ***
The serial number of the Robson unit should either end in "LD" or be in the new 7000 series.
To check your serial number and firmware version dial 0#166 to hear the serial number.
If your serial number does not come within these ranges enter the following key sequence
for Robson to work correctly: 0#1 99 2 49# 0 1# Robson will say, "accepted" then enter: 2 47# 0 0# Robson will again say, "accepted" Hang up.
This list details the problems fixed in each issue of the Robson firmware and any known bugs.
Robson v1.2 New name for v1.1.15
Robson v1.1.15
i. Default maximum message length doubled to 120 seconds (when settings are reset or new Robson).
ii. Default number of rings for answering the phone changed from 3 to 2 (when settings are reset or new Robson).
ii. Tone duration between messages over speaker halved to 0.5 seconds.
iii. Mail playback delays have been reduced in places to make Robson less ponderous.
iv. Mail playback from the PC plays all message old and new.
v. The mail message being played from the PC may be skipped by selecting the mail icon again.
vi. All announcements initiated from the PC may be interrupted when selecting a new announcement.
vii. While a message is playing, pressing the 1 key repeats the message from the start without repeating a header.
viii. While a message is playing, pressing 7 will play at half speed, 8 at normal & 9 at 1.5 times.
ix. The response to status commands from the PC is greatly improved. This resolves a timeout error on Mac software.
x. Call forwarding to external numnbers now works correctly (it was broken in version 1.1.13).
Robson v1.1.14 23/04/01
i. Formal release of v1.1.13 plus some minor internal changes.
Robson v1.1.13 12/03/01 Trial version, not released outside RTL
i. Support for loop disconnect method of call termination.
Robson v1.1.12 2/03/01 (not made available for general release)
i. A bug has been fixed where when using call announcement and transferring an incoming call
from one extension to another and then hanging up the first extension before the second answers,
the caller on the trunk also heard the announcement superimposed on the holding tone or music.
This has been fixed so that the caller does not hear the announcement.
Robson v1.1.11 2/02/01
i. A new feature is provided where an announcement only is provided. This is invoked by
recording a message in one of the virtual extensions (5-8) but NOT diverting calls to
voicemail on that extension. After the message is played, the main trunk greeting is played
again allowing the caller to choose another extension.
ii. A bug in forwarding calls to extension 8 has been fixed.
iii. The spoken sentences in error conditions are more helpful.
iv. Improvements have been made when handling unusual conditions such as full recording memory.
Robson v1.1.10 10/11/00
i. Fixed a rare problem with leaving 0 length voicemails from trunk or extension.
Development version, not released outside RTL
Robson v1.1.9 08/11/00
i. The feature "Ask For Caller Name" has now been added. This function operates when call announcement
on a selected extension is enabled and the caller identity is not matched in the phone book.
ii. Reset functions using the front panel buttons are now working correctly.
iii. Some default settings have changed. Announce calls, divert to voicemail and fax extension are all
disabled.
Robson v1.1.8 xx/xx/00
Development version, not released outside RTL
Robson v1.1.7 xx/xx/00
Development version, not released outside RTL
Robson v1.1.6 19/09/00
i. Dialling uses a new technique to determine when to connect the call to the handset.
This avoids any sensitivity to the side-tone component and line matching characteristics.
ii. SLIC state changes during ringing now correspond more closely to the SLIC specification.
iii. It is now possible to enter numeric characters into phonebook names via handsets.
iv. Numeric characters 0 and 1 are now accepted by the speed dial algorithm.
v. Call Diverts to virtual extensions now works for all virtual extensions not just extensions 5 and 6.
Robson v1.1.5 06/09/00
i.Added an engineering feature into PC_CNTRL to allow making of crosspoint connections.
ii. Modified line status sensing timing so that result for trunk 1 is always found before result for trunk 2 to avoid (rare) erroneous reporting of no free trunks if trunk 2 found to be unavailable before trunk 1 result is available.
Robson v1.1.4 30/08/00
i. Removed an additional pulsed loading of the trunk lines that occurred after going back on hook.
ii.Changed JOS so that, when editing phonebook entries, if no phone number exists, you are told that there is no recorded phone number instead of hearing that the phone number is a silent period.
Robson v1.1.3 21/08/00
i. Fixes a problem with the button task apparently hanging up the system whilst waiting unnecessarily for a timer to expire.
ii.Changed some of the default Divert settings and added a check to ensure that only Divert All Calls can be enabled for virtual extensions.
iii.Fixed a problem encountered when trying to transfer a call to an extension set up to Divert all calls to an invalid outside number. This could result in the trunk being left connected to the busy tone.
iv.Changed the dialling code so that only commas are interpreted as delays, all other non-numerics are ignored.
v. Changed Call Logging to report calls as soon as CLI is detected instead of only after Robson has answered.
vi.Fixed JOS so that you can no longer select 0 rings as an option when answering a call. The caller always hears one ring whilst the unit is receiving CLI information and so one ring is the logical minimum.
Robson v1.1.2 16/08/00
i. Fixes a problem with the system potentially hanging up when a withheld or unknown number is received via CLI from Premicell.
Robson v1.1.1x 17/07/00
i. This was a special interim release that just added the ability to adjust the DTMF output parameters via the serial interface.
Robson v1.1.0 13/07/00
i.The Extension and Trunk names were previously only stored in the PC and so anyone using more than one unit with the same PC would lose information about all except one set of names. Names are now stored in the unit. It is also necessary to use the latest version of the PC software (also v1.1.0) for this change to have effect.
ii. It was found that the updater software could set the dialling preamble, which exists within the firmware, to a space character which would then make it impossible to dial correctly. The firmware now interprets non numeric characters as pauses and in parallel the updater program has been amended to avoid this erroneous setting.
Robson v1.0.3 07/07/00
i.If a caller hangs up just before their call is diverted to voicemail CPT
is not detected properly and a long empty voicemail results.(The CPT allowed
gap time has been increased).
ii.If a call is put on hold in an attempt to transfer it to another extension
but there is no answer from the other extension the transferor can not get
the call back by pressing Recall. Also fixed associated problems when transferring to an extension that is busy or that diverts to all extensions.
Robson v1.0.2 28/06/00
i. Tone cadences are incorrect
ii. Divert to all extensions does not work correctly
Robson v1.0.1 27/06/00
i. Serial Number is not read correctly from File - first character is missing
ii. PC can not set any string parameter to null
Robson v1.0.0 23/06/00
Initial release.
----------------------
Other identified issues/known bugs:
i. Not all incoming fax transmissions are detected and routed.
ii. If the VIP and an extension have the same PIN, the VIP override of withheld call rejection does not work.
iii. Ringback can cause problems particularly if CLI is not provided. We advise not to use Ringback.
