It is typical of this type of location that landlines are non-existent or prohibitively expensive to install. At the same time, GSM mobile network coverage is now comprehensive enough to provide a signal to almost anywhere.

A great deal of Burnside's design effort goes into the maintenance of a good quality GSM signal, the flexible use of both mobile and landline communications, and the conservative management of power. All Burnside products incorporate functions that cannot be provided by handheld mobile phones.
